Product Information
When you use the WhichOne extension to analyze a product, we collect:
- Product title, price, and brand
- Product URL and retailer name
- The AI verdict we generate for you
This information is collected only when you explicitly click the extension to analyze a product. We do not track your general browsing activity.
Usage Analytics
We collect anonymized usage statistics to improve our service, including:
- Number of product comparisons performed
- Which retailers are most commonly analyzed
- General extension performance metrics
This data is aggregated and anonymized. We cannot identify individual users from this data.
WhichOne.ai automatically detects e-commerce product pages across multiple platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace, and other online stores). Detection occurs locally within your browser and only activates when clear product indicators are present. Non-product pages are ignored, and no browsing data is collected.

Chrome Extension Permissions
The WhichOne extension requests the following Chrome permissions, which are required for core functionality:
- activeTab — Allows the extension to read the current product page only when you click the icon.
- host_permissions — Enables analysis of supported retailer sites such as Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, Best Buy, and Lowe's.
- scripting — Injects a read-only content script to extract limited product data (title, brand, price) for AI analysis.
- storage — Saves minimal local preferences (for example, Quality-vs-Price setting) on your device only.
- remote code — Allows secure communication with WhichOne.ai's servers and AI APIs over HTTPS; no external or dynamic code is executed.
The extension performs no background tracking and only activates when you request an analysis.
Children Privacy
WhichOne is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
